Advocacy, Research and Networking - Teenage mothers and child support foundation

With increasing population, open media and interaction between the rural and urban populations, a lot of new behavior is acquired that affects social life. This causes challenge to the most adventurous group of the population, adolescents. We hereby use research to inform our interventions on the adolescent girl’s most especially teenage mothers. From the research findings, we then intervene to prevent teenage pregnancies.
Through advocacy, we position ourselves to tell the stories of the teenage mothers as part of a vulnerable, under privileged population that seeks attention.

Teenage Mothers against Teenage Motherhood (TMATM) approach is a tool used at TMCSF to build a critical mass of the teenagers who have gone through teenage pregnancy as ambassadors to speak against teenage pregnancy hence promoting prevention. This positively impacts the adolescence because they get information on challenges from the experienced agemates.

This program area contributes to SDG 10: Reduced inequality within the adolescent youth and in this case, boys and girls, at local level.
